‘A new album, a new label’ is a
pattern that is strictly followed by Frenchman Bruno
Levesque. His ’97 debut album, “The Fifth Season”, was
only available as a CD-R, while the follow-up, “Trouble
In Paradise”, was released by Brennus Music. Both albums
were instrumental pieces of work, but things changed
when Levesque stumbled upon vocalist Jerome Cazard, with
whom he wrote and recorded “Utopia”, which was released
by MTM Music at the beginning of 2002. Of a total of 13
tracks, 10 were vocal and believe me, Cazard was a real
revelation! “Nostalgia”, album # 4, sees Bruno and
Jerome moving once again and this time they found a home
in Spain, more specifically with Vicente Corral’s Vinny
Records (home of 91 Suite). Once again a total of 13
songs pass in review and all of them are well-written,
–performed and –produced. I wrote it in the past and I’d
like to repeat it here and now: Silence is one of
France’s best AOR bands ever and they deserve
recognition far beyond the French borders. Put aside
your prejudices about French bands and enjoy this album.
It has international class written all over it! ( CL)
